Faith Regional Health Services | living WELL | Fall 2013 - page 3

IT’S COMMON
for people not
to worry about their local hospital
until they need medical care. But
it’s important to ask questions when
choosing where to go for services.
Questions like:
“Is it a hospital
that provides high-quality services
by a trained workforce?”
“Is the
employees’ work ethic guided by
mission, vision and values focused
on giving patients the best care?”
“Does it offer advanced medicine
that is supported by state-of-the-art
technology?”
Why should all of this matter to
you?
At Faith Regional Health Services,
our family of 1,200 physicians and
employees understands and is com-
mitted to providing you with excel-
lent medical care. It matters that our
team of health care professionals
implements national standards of care
using evidence-based practices and
develops new processes that improve
quality of care, resulting in better
outcomes for our patients.
It matters when Faith Regional is
nationally recognized for its clini-
cal achievements. This year we were
ranked in the top 5 percent of hospi-
tals in the U.S. for outstanding patient
experience and for our ve-star joint
replacement program, according to
Healthgrades. That matters because it
gives you more con dence in the level
of care you are receiving from us. And
it gives our employees and physicians
a sense of pride in attaining those
accomplishments because we know it
bene ts our patients.
For several months some of Faith
Regional’s physicians and employ-
ees have been working diligently on
maintaining existing accreditations
and attaining new ones. Why does
accreditation matter? When a hospital
receives an accreditation, it means
that it has gone above and beyond
to implement national standards
of care and best practices used by
leading hospitals in the country. In
September, the American College of
Surgeons and Commission on Cancer
awarded our program another three-
year accreditation with commenda-
tions. The Sleep Disorder Center was
also granted re-accreditation from
the American Academy of Sleep
Medicine for sleep lab and out-of-
center sleep testing. In December, the
American Stroke Association will be
on-site to evaluate our stroke pro-
gram for accreditation.
Most recently, Faith Regional made
the list of the Most Wired survey’s
Most Improved featured in
Hospitals
& Health Networks
July 2013 issue. How
does this
affect patients?
Care must
be connected
and continue
wherever the
patient is—
whether that is
in the hospital
or the doc-
tor’s of ce. When you come to Faith
Regional, your health information is
maintained through our electronic
health records system and is avail-
able 24/7 so that physicians and other
health care professionals providing
your care are able to assess your medi-
cal needs and determine your plan of
care much faster.
At Faith Regional Health Services,
we want you to know that we are
continually working to ensure that
best practices are being used in our
delivery of services. Having con -
dence in your hospital is important
to you. Because if it matters to you, it
matters to us.
