FROM THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS
and leadership to
medical staff and employees, the
focus at Faith Regional is to consis-
tently provide an outstanding patient
experience while achieving excellent
outcomes. One of the ways we are
accomplishing this is through growth
and expansion. Last fall, Faith Regional
began phase 1 of a five-phase expan-
sion project of the hospital’s pre- and
postoperative surgery areas. The
project will improve patient safety,
comfort and outcomes by refining
the physical space and environment
in which care is provided.
Numerous improvements
During phase 1, a new bypass corridor
that connects the main hospital to patient
rooms in the Bed Tower was created;
installation was completed on a state-of-
the-art air-handling system for the
surgical suites; the Advanced Wound
Center moved to a new location within
the West Campus; and the outpatient
laboratory draw and pre-anesthesia
testing areas relocated closer to the
hospital’s main entrance for easier
patient access.
Earlier this year, purchase and
installation of the new MAGNETOM
®
Aera MRI system allowed for the
improvement of our imaging capabili-
ties. The new system is faster, quieter
and more comfortable for patients
undergoing an MRI exam. The installa-
tion also included renovations of a

patient waiting area, new private
changing rooms and a more centrally-
located restroom.
The next step is to completely redesign
space vacated by the Advanced Wound
Center, allowing the ambulatory surgery
unit to expand from five pre- and
postoperative patient beds to 10. Patient
space will increase from 1,700 to 4,500
square feet. Each of these beds will be
located within larger, private rooms
allowing for more privacy. The nurse’s
station will be located in the center of
the unit, enabling staff to respond to
patients’ needs more quickly. A new
smart board will improve communi-
cation between nursing staff, physi-
cians, and patients and their families.
The new ambulatory unit will
provide a more comfortable and quiet
atmosphere for those preparing for
surgery. The renovated unit will con-
tinue to be used for pain injections as
well as postoperative observation and
help Faith Regional serve patients well
into the future.
Renovations of pre-/postoperative surgery
rooms (above architect renderings) will improve
privacy and patient and family comfort.
