Faith Regional Health Services dazzled
in their Kentucky Derby–themed attire at
last year’s gala.
Both last year’s and this year’s galas
will benefit Faith Regional’s five-phase
surgical expansion project. Last
November, Faith Regional completed
phase 2, which included expanding
the hospital’s pre- and postoperative
surgery area.

THE GALA DERBY
—Race for
Faith will take place on Saturday,
April 16, at Divots DeVent Center.
The evening’s theme is the Kentucky
Derby, so, ladies and gentlemen,
break out your hats once again for an
honorable cause. The evening will
feature live and silent auctions, din-
ner, cocktails, and live entertainment.
Each year, this evening serves as an
important opportunity for community
members to support Faith Regional
Health Services and its mission to
serve Christ by providing all people
with exemplary medical services in an
environment of love and care.
This year’s Gala Derby will raise
funds for the next phase of the
Surgery Expansion project. Last year’s
Gala Derby raised over $100,000
for the first two phases, which were
completed in November 2015. A
4,500-square-foot space expanded
from 5 pre- and post-operative pa-
tient beds to 10 larger private rooms.
A new pain center was completed
and a new MRI system was installed
as well. The expansion ensures
that Faith Regional can continue to
serve patients in a safe and efficient
manner, as surgeries increased by
17 percent in 2015. The larger rooms
greatly improve the overall patient
experience by allowing for more pri-
vacy and for family members to visit
before and after surgery.
The next phase of the surgery ex-
pansion project will include upgrad-
ing the current operating rooms and
moving the post-anesthesia care unit
so it will be closer to this new unit,
which will also allow for additional
private rooms to be built.
Faith Regional continues to expand
surgical services to meet the needs of
patients throughout the area, working
steadily to reach the goal of being the
regional referral center for Northeast
Nebraska. Funds from this year’s Gala
Derby will help to enhance patient
safety, security and privacy and im-
prove patient flow and overall patient
satisfaction with the health care expe-
rience at Faith Regional.
