The power of teamwork What is PM&R? Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), also called physiatry, is an outpatient medical specialty focused on restoring physical function and quality of life. Physiatrists take a nonsurgical approach to treating a wide range of conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles and tendons.
