IT DOESN’T SEEM like that long ago that we first heard reports of a novel coronavirus identified in China. Within a short time, hospi- tals across the country, including Faith Regional Health Services, began to prepare for a potential pandemic. Using guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, American Hospital Association, and Nebraska Hospital Association, Faith Regional soon had a coronavirus preparedness plan in place, back when the risk of being exposed to COVID-19 was still very low in Nebraska. Evolving to care for you As information about the virus and its spread evolved, so too did Faith Regional’s protocols and safety measures to protect the health of our patients, staff and communities. Even now, as restrictions have eased, Faith Regional continues to work closely with the Department of Health and Human Services and the Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department to ensure we are continuing to provide exem- plary medical services in the safest way possible. While many things changed with this pandemic, many things also stayed true. Stepping up Our medical staff and over 1,400 health care professionals continued to provide outstanding care. You stepped up when our community needed you most. Your caring and dedication inspired us all. Our community continued to support Faith Regional like never before. It’s inspiring to see how you’ve come together for a com- mon cause. You really stepped up, practiced safe social distancing, and helped us flatten the curve. You donated masks, supplies and other personal protective equipment and provided meals and other tokens of thanks to our health care workers.
