Summertime, when the livin’ is easy
Summertime—that’s when school is out and everyone is thinking about where
to go on vacation. Your trip might involve a theme park with lots of rides, boat-
ing and swimming at your favorite lake, or heading to the mountains for some
hiking and camping. When you travel away from home, planning meals and
snacks can become a challenge. The “Eat Well, Be Well on Vacation” story on
page 11 offers helpful tips for making nutritious choices on the road.
If you plan to be outside in the heat doing activities, your body needs
more water than usual. Read up on dehydration and the
importance of recognizing when your body is thirsty
(page 10).
No matter the season, you should always put
